The Clouds. Part Two

Continuation of the cloud course. Using the skills and techniques from the first part, we will learn a new technique for creating complex realistic clouds. This time the task is to control as much as possible what we are doing. The described technique is well suited to watercolor artworks, where a lot of attention should be paid to the sky and clouds and they perform the main emotional work.

But the most interesting is minor tricks and tips from the master.

List of materials:

Paper: 100% cotton 300 gsm (140 pounds) Rough (Torchon) paper from Saunders, Arches, or Fabriano Artistico, size around 11 x 15 inches.

Brush:

Round paintbrush (or mop), squirrel, goat or equivalent (approximately #12). Chinese calligraphy brush (available in our online store) is highly recommended.
Strong hair flat brush, goat or synthetic. I will use 7-Line Flat goat brush (available in our online store). These brushes (5 or 7 lines) are highly recommended. Soft squirrel brushes are not recommended.

Paint:

I highly recommend Daniel Smith watercolor in tubes. In case of impossibility, you can use any other professional brand. Small sets for travel are NOT recommended.
