Urban Sketching:
A Complete Cityscape
In this lesson, we will combine everything we've learned so far. The light, the simple expression of space and the rules for constructing a cityscape. We will also put cars and people in our watercolor. Disclaimer – if you haven't watched the two previous video tutorials on cityscape, stop right now and complete the exercises for the first two lessons. Trust me, it is important to get ready for this lesson.
Today we visit Montreal – the city where I live and work. As usual, I will reveal my personal tips and secrets in this tutorial.

List of materials:
Paper: 100% cotton 300 gsm (140 pounds) Rough (Torchon) paper from Saunders, Arches, or Fabriano Artistico, size around 11 x 15 inches or 22 x 15 inches.
Brush:
Round paintbrush (or mop), squirrel, goat or equivalent (approximately #12). Chinese calligraphy brush (available in our online store) is highly recommended.
Strong hair flat brush, goat or synthetic. I will use 7-Line Flat goat brush (available in our online store). These brushes (5 or 7 lines) are highly recommended. Soft squirrel brushes are not recommended.
Paint:
I highly recommend Daniel Smith watercolor in tubes. In case of impossibility, you can use any other professional brand. Small sets for travel are NOT recommended.

Quinacridone Deep Gold
Perylene Violet
Cobalt Blue
Phthalo Blue GS
Phthalo Green BS
Indigo
Masking tape, any board to stretch paper on, and paper towels.
