The answers to these questions and much more can be found in the second volume of Sketching Academy. But the main attraction is of course step-by-step sketches in different techniques and invaluable personal advice from the author.
Take your sketches to the professional level!
2. Video courses:
Perspective, vol. 1
Perspective is incredibly important for urban sketches. This time we will look at the most interesting kind of perspective, which is very rarely used, but turns our sketches into very dynamic drawings. We are talking about a perspective with three vanishing points.
Perspective, vol. 2
We continue to study perspective and combine our knowledge of construction with watercolor. In addition, we will learn how to gracefully convey all the tasty details in the cityscape. For this we will go to France!
Perspective Tricks, Part 1
Perspective is a very complex but incredibly interesting tool for constructing space. However, sketching requires an understanding of basic laws rather than an in-depth knowledge of perspective. And most importantly - some simple practical tricks. This is where we begin our study of perspective in sketches.
Perspective Tricks, Part 2
The next trick, without which it is impossible to draw convincing arches, aqueducts and even semicircular windows, is how to mark oval and round shapes in perspective. Understanding how circles are distorted in perspective will allow you to create realistic sketches of arches.
Fisheye Effect
We'll look at how to achieve a fisheye effect - this perspective can create amazing dynamic effects in your sketches.
Construction of 3D Space
These simple exercises will help you understand how to construct three-dimensional space in your sketches. Not to copy reality, but to construct it. Understanding space is a very important element of analytical drawing.
